The Wilmington, NC area has some amazing restaurants. I get asked a lot to recommend a good place to eat. Here are my faves!
- New fav – the OC down in Monkey Junction, primarily because it is so close to my house! Good family Italian with quality food for the connoisseur to the teenager. Fun, lively atmosphere. Make reservations!
- Caprice Bistro – on the first block of Market street, stones throw to the Cape Fear River. Feel like you are in New York with white paper-topped tables, pommes frites and great mussels. Well priced meals good for special nights-out or casual dining.
- Brasserie Du Solei – in Lumina Station with nice outdoor patio. Well rounded menu with customize your own salad option and raw bar. Bustling atmosphere and great staff
- Nikkis – good sushi and well rounded menu from tempura to black bean burgers. Both downtown and Carolina Beach
- Sealevel City Gourmet – Gluten free and vegetarian. Odd location on S. Kerr avenue, but good, healthy choices
- Copper Penny – pub downtown with great sweet potato fries and quality sandwiches
- PT’s for a sloppy burger and fries – Monkey Junction, College Road, Military Cutoff and 17th Street
- The 9 Bakery and Lounge on Front street. Just had a nice lunch there; homemade gourmet doughnuts! They also serve breakfast and dinner
